Diamonds in the Rough
The work from my "Diamonds in the Rough Series" is based upon negatives that were overlooked over a period of 50 years until they were recently rediscovered. Many were just not appreciated at the time. There is no telling how many of my negatives and prints were lost during a fire or damaged by mold from flooding following several hurricanes. I have been restoring the images from those negatives over the past two years. Many of my favorite photographs, such as Mr. Keyes, Trout Man, Factory Workers, etc., were not harmed. This ongoing project of environmental portraits spans from 1969 - 2019 and is titled "A Few People."
